Amelie, Asiago, Beaujolais, and Pomplamoose

I have had a lovely weekend. After an absolutely exhausting week the BF kept me awake long enough to enjoy a fantastic French film (Amelie), to make fantastic Italian pasta with stinky asiago cheese, and to desperately try and enjoy French wine (although that probably didn't help with the sleepiness). There's a story behind the wine that I'll share if I ever pin down the motivation (motivation is a slippery little bugger sometimes) because I don't like wine even though I really really want to.

Hermione was gone all weekend house-sitting so I got to be silly and crafty without disapproving glares at my intense time wasting. I'm just kidding, she isn't disapproving, but she does think I'm a little crazy for taking such joy in cutting up paper... I also watched the first FIVE Harry Potter movies. And to top it all off I discovered a new band (? I don't know if they're a band per-say) that I LOVE, Pomplamoose (grapefruit in French). You should really check out the WebSite but at least watch the video!

My Grandma has Facebook

It also took her over a week to add me. Maybe that should send me a message? Student teaching is going really well still! If you want to keep up on that I started a new blog for all teaching related info, including outfits! You can find the link on my profile, I'm too lazy to link to it here...

So... I'm going to try and bog a little more dutifully. My latest internet find is a complete and totally rip-off, but I don't care because I like it! However, with such a small price difference I'm not sure downgrading on quality is worth it.

So this is the original. It rings in at a whopping $28 at Athropologie.
This little puppy is a bit bigger and rings in at a measly $9.80. Of course, this can be found at Forever 21, the queen of rip-offs and also the queen of my heart.

All in all, either might make a great new teacher bag for me! My current one is also a canvas bag that says, "My mom says voting is cool!" I got it during the last election and generally the high school kids like it, but the middle schoolers are so far way from being able to vote so the message is kind of lost.

Down to my last week at the middle school! Wish me luck!

My Paper Cuts

This definetely isn't all of them, but here are a few that I've actually taken the time to frame or do something with!

23 before 23

I have decided to make a list of 23 things to do before I turn 23. I saw it on one of my favorite blogs, Slice of Pink, and I really really wanted to do it. I don't know, I saw it and I thought, I should do something like that! And so I'm writing my list, I'm up to like 7.
Suggestions are always welcome!

I need to stop blogging on my planning period... They're doing a research project so there's just not a whole heck of a lot for me to do. And I prefer to do most of my planning at home where I can access any site I want without hitting a firewall...

Planning Period...

Right now I'm sitting in a freezing computer lab waiting for planing period to finish. I have declared today as my first official day of Spring. The BF hates when I do this, "Earth science says that the moon and the sun and not till March 20-something and blah blah blah." Today is spring. The Cubs start their preseason games today and it's supposed to hit 40 degrees. Currently it is 35 and sunny, I am hopeful. Because of this glorious first day of spring I have broken out the pencil skirt, the nude Ninewest slingbacks, and the fuchsia J-Crew cardigan. It's going to be a good day.

The students are approaching...

Not Particularly Patriotic...

Reading this made it a lot harder to say the Pledge of Allegiance this morning with my students. And finding out that it's true made it almost impossible.

About Me

My photo
I love pretty pictures and fashion, decorating and paper. I use Harry Potter pseudonyms for all of my friends because as of now they are skeptical of the blogging world. I expect when we grow and up and move away and have babies we will all have blogs because that seems to be the thing to do. And when that day comes I will laugh and gleefully answer all their questions about blogger, thankful that they can finally share in the obsession with me! And secretly, I will be very proud that my archives stretch back much farther then theirs. Pennies From Heaven is where I write everything. I put my favorite photographs there, my favorite fashions, thoughts, stories, and humorous conversations between Hermione and I.
